Chevrolet electric SUV coming to Quebec

Those who want an environmentally-friendly SUV without compromising on capability and power will soon be served! Chevrolet has announced the electrification of two popular SUVs in its line-up: the Equinox and the Blazer. While we wait for the brand to reveal the technical details, your Chevrolet dealer reveals what we know about both models!

Chevrolet Equinox Electric SUV

For its new electric model, the Chevrolet Equinox changes completely. The compact SUV is visually distinct from the current gasoline-powered model, both inside and out.
It is illuminated by a light bar that crosses the front end, topping an all-black grille, according to the images revealed. The visual signature is also revisited at the rear. Sporty in appearance, the Chevrolet Electric lowers its stance for even greater dynamism.

While we don't yet know its technical specifications or battery capacity, we do know that it will be based on the Ultium platform. This is the same platform as the Silverado EV, which boasts impressive capacities, so it's promising! We can therefore expect a good dose of power, but above all a greater range than that of the Bolt and Bolt EUV models. The latter currently offer ranges of up to 417 and 397 km respectively.

The interior design also stands in stark contrast to the gasoline-powered Equinox; it looks rather futuristic, like the Silverado EV. There's a large central screen linked to a fully digitized instrument cluster, with two atypically shaped screens rather than the traditional rectangular ones.
Chevrolet is announcing an innovative infotainment system, and we know that the cabin will feature customized ambient lighting for a unique experience. What's more, Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving assistance will be available with the electric Chevrolet Equinox. And all this at a particularly affordable price, starting at around $37,250, according to Chevrolet. Going green has never been so accessible! RS and LT versions will be available from autumn 2023.

Chevrolet Blazer Electric SUV

The electric Chevrolet Blazer will be a few months ahead of the Equinox, with the LT version scheduled for spring 2023. True to form, however, the Blazer will offer a second, more powerful version. It's called SS (for Super Sport), a name often used for Chevrolet's sporty versions. This version will arrive a little later, in autumn 2023. It will, of course, offer superior performance and include all-wheel drive with two electric motors as standard. Figures are not yet known for the battery or motors used; more details will be revealed on July 18. That's also when you'll be able to reserve your vehicle. Like the other electric models, the Chevrolet SUV is based on the Ultium platform, which heralds generous capacities.

The gasoline-powered Blazer features a number of aesthetic changes for 2023, and the electric model follows suit, albeit with a few differences. Like other electric Chevrolet SUVs, the Blazer features a light strip at the front, and photos reveal an illuminated logo at its center. For even more dynamism and a modernized look, larger-diameter wheels and a contrasting black roof complete the well-sculpted lines. Images of the interior are still awaited, but we do know that the vehicle will be spacious for its passengers, thanks in part to its extended wheelbase. Pricing has yet to be announced, but the midsize SUV is positioned slightly above the Equinox in the range. Of course, the powerful SS version will be the most expensive of the electric Chevrolet SUVs announced so far. However, it promises to be high-powered and will delight sporty driving enthusiasts!

100% electric SUVs coming soon from Chevrolet

Chevrolet has set itself the mission of making electric vehicles accessible to consumers in Canada and Quebec. The particularly affordable prices announced so far are a step in this direction, not to mention those of the current models (Bolt EV and EUV).

The Blazer and Equinox are announced for 2023; the popular Silverado truck is also expected as a 2024 electric model. This is just the beginning for the American automaker: GM plans to market 30 electric vehicles worldwide by the end of 2025.

In North America, we can expect 40% of models to be electrified by that date. The change has only just begun; several more electric SUVs will be added to the range in the next few years. These will feature technologies developed specifically for the new electric vehicles. The Ultifi platform will offer new advanced options and on-demand applications.
